Frequently Asked Questions

  • Most people call my photography style “Documentary” or “Candid.” I like to stay out of the way as much as possible and capture the true, authentic moments.

However, I know the importance of posed photos, so I make sure to get those as well. But even in the posed photos, I guide and then use “prompts” to evoke genuine emotion. I rarely have you standing still for very long, and would rather you have true photos of the day, even if I am guiding those.

I also have a psychology and sociology degree, which helps me stay constantly aware of even the smallest of interactions and try to anticipate special moments and capture those for you.

As far as my editing style, I have a true to life, but vibrant style. I want your photos to feel timeless, but pop and evoke emotion as well.

  • You can expect to receive 50-100 photos per hour of coverage. For an 8 hour wedding you typically receive around 600 or more photos.

While I take many more photos than that - usually around 2500 - a lot of those are burst shots and I pick the best ones. For example, during group portraits, I will take 5 or more photos to make sure everyone’s eyes are open and mouths are closed.

Part of having me is my time in picking the best photos. This way when you receive your gallery it feels magical and you aren’t sorting through hundreds of photos that are nearly identical. Of course if I am ever in doubt of which one you might like better, you simply get all the candidates. And you almost always get some goofy ones in there, too. I want you to have all the photos that truly tell the story of your day.

  • All the photos are delivered via a private online gallery, and yours to use for whatever you want! - Well, except selling them or telling people you took them. (Always a catch.)

I still own the copyright to the photos (an industry standard), but you can print them, post them, blog them, make an album, whatever. I want you to love them and share them with everyone! And I don’t need credit for them, but that is always appreciated.

Your online gallery also comes with a simple way to order prints or albums as well. While this is a little more expensive than taking them to CVS, they are better quality and ship directly to your door. As of now, I offer prints starting at $12 each, and Albums starting at $135.

  • Usually there is no charge if within 2ish Hours of Columbus, Ohio. I love traveling and if I have to charge, keep that to the minimum I can to stay in business. I even like flying, so make that a bargain for you as well.

This can get a little convoluted depending on your specific situation. For example, a full-day package 3 hours away would most likely not have a travel fee. But if that was only a 4 hour elopement, I may have to add a little travel cost. These details are all finalized once I hear your story and get more information about your wedding.

  • There are a lot of moving parts to a wedding. A lot of times things shift during the day to accommodate little scheduling conflicts. I make sure that none of these are ever because of me, and am always fine with being flexible and adjusting accordingly.

And to make sure I am secure and stress-free on my end, here’s a little of my redundancy program:

    • I will almost always be carrying two full-frame cameras at once.

    • Both of those have dual-memory card slots for immediate backup.

    • I keep a 3rd camera packed in my vehicle incase anything goes wrong with the ones I am carrying.

    • I bring 3 Flashes, but only ever need 2 at any one time.

And if for some freak reason I cannot physically make it to your wedding (Has Never Happened!) I will find you a replacement photographer ASAP. This is in our contract, but again, has never happened. I look forward to your wedding too, and don’t want to miss out!

  • Yep. I offer two different options for paying for your Wedding Package, both at no extra cost to you.

    Option 1 | 30% Deposit, 30% Mid-Project Payment, 40% Final Payment Day of Wedding.

Option 2 | Monthly Auto-Pay Until Day of Wedding. Equal Payments Each Month. First Payment Acts as Deposit.

  • Absolutely. And Liability Insurance.

My contract is easy to read and comes with the files I send before booking. It protects you, and it protects me. There are a lot more details in it, but essentially says that I have to fulfill my duties and you have to pay for those services. (I wish it were that easy, but we can’t live on a handshake anymore…)

  • Definitely. We have to spend your whole wedding day together. Let’s make sure we vibe. That’s why I make sure we meet or at least get on a call before booking.

Another option is to simply book an engagement session for $275. We get to know each other and get some great photos. After you get the photos from that session and you love them, that $275 would then act as your wedding deposit. Simple and no pressure.

Most of my wedding packages come with an engagement session, so why not offer this to make you feel more comfortable?

  • Just fill out the no pressure contact form below or give me a ring. Contacting me is just a way to start a conversation. More than anything, I want you to feel confident before booking anything.
